Support and FAQ

Most questions are answered below. If yours is not, write to support@letskeep.com — a human replies, usually within a day or two.

Where things stand

The first release is iOS local bookkeeping, currently in pre-release acceptance. Cloud sync, the family ledger and the subscription are built, but they will not open for purchase until they pass real-device and real-payment acceptance; those entry points are switched off in the current build. See release status.

Bookkeeping and data

Where is my ledger, and is it uploaded?

In a local database on your device. With cloud sync off nothing is uploaded anywhere and we cannot see any of it. The app contains no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK and no third-party tracking.

How do I export my ledger?

In Settings → Data you can:

  • Export CSV — for spreadsheets or your own archive;
  • Save a JSON backup — a whole-ledger file you can import back;
  • Snapshots and restore — restore points the app keeps locally.

Note that exported backups include entries marked as deleted, and that the file is yours to look after — keep it somewhere outside the device. A local backup is not an off-site backup.

How do I restore after changing phones or reinstalling?

Import your JSON backup on the new device; imports are deduplicated. Once cloud sync opens you can also sign in and pull, but cloud sync is not open yet.

I logged a wrong amount, or deleted something by accident

Existing entries are editable — amount, category, note, date and time. Deletions can be undone.

Are the exchange rates live market data?

No. Conversion falls back through three layers: built-in baseline → local cache → server refresh. The server source is a public daily reference rate, not a live feed, and conversions are approximations — fine for everyday bookkeeping, not for settlement or investment decisions.

Subscriptions

How do I cancel?

In Apple's subscription settings (or Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions on iPhone). Payments are handled by Apple; we cannot cancel for you.

Deleting the app or your account does not cancel the subscription. Cancel it in Apple's subscription settings — this is the single most common complaint about subscription apps, and we would rather you did not run into it.

What happens to my ledger if the subscription lapses?

Nothing is locked or deleted. A lapsed subscription only blocks creating a new family and inviting new members; existing family data and syncing keep working.

Do I pay again on a new phone?

No. An auto-renewing subscription is tied to your Apple Account. Sign in with the same Apple Account and use Restore Purchases on the family page.

Family ledger

Does every family member pay?

No. One person pays and can invite up to five more (six in total) to share the same ledger. Members join with Sign in with Apple and do not register an account.

If I leave the family, do I lose my entries?

No. When you leave, are removed, or the owner disbands the family, a copy of the shared ledger is moved back into each member's personal space. You get the current ledger back — it is not wiped.

Is this Apple Family Sharing?

No. This is ledger sharing inside LetsKeep, which is a different thing from Apple Family Sharing for purchases.
